Matt,

Thanks for dropping by. The anti-cam sounds very cool. I'd like to hear more about Guillotine Flake and it's history. Has this route been climbed before? And it would be great to see some pictures of the anti-cam and the of the flake.

Good luck!

Ross,

To get you stoked for your trip I'm putting a link below to Sqaumish Bouldering video that is on the site's Movie section. Many consider this the best video montage of Squamish Bouldering.

Smoke Bluff Park Improvements

Went cragging to Smoke Bluffs on Saturday and noticed some nice improvements to the park. I understand reading through some of the past minutes of the Smoke Bluffs Park Committee (look in the Committee folders then Smoke Bluffs Park Committee folder) that they are responsible for much of this work a...

Climb Saturday (April 10)

Hi, I'm heading up to Squamish tomorrow. I'm looking for someone to climb with. I've got a trad rack, I don't climb hard stuff -- beginner to moderate grades. So if you're looking for a mellow day to start the season or are getting back into climbing like me, give me a call. I can pick you up anywhe...

Hi Ross, You will be following a long tradition of Brits coming here to take on the tough granite of Squamish. Some of the early pioneers of Squamish Climbing are former hardcore grit climbers, one them has written the definitive guidebook for Squamish. And more recently Tim Clifford came here and p...

Hi Tom All the above are good suggestions. Other crags with lots of sport climbs are the Petrifying Wall at Murrin Park and Fern Hill http://www.squamishclimbing.com/topos/Fern-Hill.pdf You might want to check out the club scene in Whistler if you're looking for full-on all night outings. Try the se...

Cloudraker et al We haven't made any decision on requiring people to put their real names on posts. My own opinion is that I think people should stand behind their statements, especially when they are being critical of someone or making allegations. But I don't think the community forum will work or...

This is a great discussion and one well worth having. I have to admit I was not expecting to get into a debate about the whole anonymity of the Internet when I was looking for suggestions on changes. I mean that's one of the biggest problems about the Net -- anybody can hide behind a mask and even i...

Thanks Dru, I found it on page 56 of Kevin McLane's 1999 Guide. It reads in part: These quite seacliffs overlooking Howe Sound are located on a headland a short walk south of Britannia Beach. Access: The Crags and approach may lie in part on undeveloped private land, so if you visit this area, pleas...

Community Forum changes - What would you like to see?

I'm thinking of making some modifications to the Community Forum such as adding more categories like Bouldering, Wall Climbing and Alpine. I'm also considering getting rid of the rank gif (the graphic that goes from monkey to ape to human) What do people think? What other suggestions do you have? By...

Who's climbed at Smuggler's cove south of Britannia Beach

I picked up the Squamish Trail Recreation Map from the Adventure Ctre Today. I was going biking with the fam and wanted a good trail for riding with young kids. The map also shows hiking trails and put in points for kayaking. And it labels climber's trails and areas. The detail and the info on it is...
