As long as the the Howe Sound Brew Pub keeps the wireless open and the beer flowing I'll try to post a summary of the happenings each day from the festival. Check out my first post on the home page.

Thanks Tami!
You may have noticed a crag rat is now on the banner logo. The artwork comes from the talented, brilliant and OK slightly twisted Tami Knight. You have probably seen her artwork in Alpinist Mag and other publications. She has also published several cartoon books including "Climbing Tales of Terror" ...

Re: The Ten Commandments of Bouldering Etiquette
Ya, he tweeted (Truthboulderer) last night to correct that: "Rumours of me only have climbed 46 days are greatly mistaken. I cracked a 100 this week."
Opps sorry Matt, keep climbing.

Re: Here we go again (Squamish Gondola proposal)
Anders Ourom writes the Chief Ander's sets the Chief newspaper straight and urges a cautious approach to the gondola proposal in a letter published in the paper. He makes a number of good points including this one: As the gondola would be in or adjacent to Stawamus Chief and Shannon Falls provincial...

The Ten Commandments of Bouldering Etiquette
Boulderer Matt Lucas is blogging about his Squamish climbing season and goals at yukonerdownunder . Matt's goal is to climb 180 days this year and he's done 43 so far. Given all the rain, I think that's pretty darn good. His most recent post drew a smile, it speaks to the peeves of many who climb on...

Re: Poll: Sea to Sky Gondola Proposal
Kind of interesting. The poll on the Chief website shows opinion on the gondola proposal is running roughly opposite to this one. With 44 percent fully supportive and 26 percent generally supportive but with questions. Chief poll url: http://www.squamishchief.com/apps/pbcs.dll/pollstats?ShowCategory...

Squamish TR video - dirtbagging, bouldering and slacklining
This video was just posted up on YouTube -- a road trip to Squamish in June. Looks like a good trip and getting a lot of problems done.

Re: lost tungston wedding band and silver chain
Nice ending. A lost wedding band is a downer. I love it when lost items are returned as a result of this board. Which reminds me, if you ever do find anything at the crags, take a look here and do a search. There is a good likelihood the person who lost it posted it here. Like this guy who lost his ...

Oops, I ought to do it soon so I know what I'm talking about.
That Summit Post list is fairly extensive, and includes all the * routes in McLanes guide. I like the list put out by Squamish Rock Guides. It's got most of the classics.

Re: Here we go again (Squamish Gondola proposal)
Welcome Frank Baumann to this discussion. Frank's a geo-technical engineer, longtime Squamish resident and first ascensionist of several Squamish classics. He's the go to guy when I'm booking a guest for CBC on a story on landslides and other geo-tech disasters. My understanding is that the Shannon ...

Re: Squamish Accommodation
Hi Craig, Welcome to Squamish Climbing! Hope you have great weather and a good time during your visit. Mid-August is a great time to climb. I think you'll be blown away by the quality and diversity of climbing here. You may have tried this already - they could already be booked - but you can't get a...

Heads up Access Society Trail Day July 15
We are just over two weeks away to one of the most important events of the year for Squamish climbers - the Access Society Trail Day. This is the chance for climbers to give back to the community and demonstrate we just don't use the resource we are also stewards of the climbing crags. Hope you can ...

Poll: Sea to Sky Gondola Proposal
I'll keep this running poll at the top for a while. If you have a comment about the poll question or wish to add one let me know asap. We've been here before but the new proponents say this time around it will be different. The base station will be at the same gravel pit between the Chief and Shann...
