Re: Wonderland Trail Crag?
Thanks for the info. I can't believe I never noticed it before. It did look like it could use a little love now that you mention it.

Wonderland Trail Crag?
I noticed the other day there's a small, cleaned sport climbing crag near the southern entrance to the Wonderland mountain biking trail. Does anyone know its name, any route beta, or where there's a topo for it?

Re: Is Squamish Soft?
i believe there was an accident years ago on calculus where an experienced gentleman fell off the initial pitches and decked I actually met that guy revisiting his accident scene on the approach pitches to Calculus. He almost died. He apparently fell off the tricky crux bulge just before the big ro...

Re: Is Squamish Soft?
Several years ago, I was fortunate enough to climb the Grand Wall because a good friend of mine essentially guided me up it. It was without a doubt one the most incredible climbs of my life. I freed most of it, but I did struggle in the harder cruxes and I pulled aid whenever necessary to get myself...

Re: Psyche ledge party
My theory is that it's called Psyche Ledge because it's actually not a ledge--you have to "psyche" yourself out to believe it.

Psyche Ledge is the old highway that is now an access "trail". It's class 1. There must be a misunderstanding...

Re: Is Squamish Soft?
YDS grades have not been based on the single hardest move difficulty for years, if they ever in fact were. They reflect the total difficulty of a route. It's obviously very subjective and I'm not saying I totally disagree with you, but there are many sources which maintain that the route is graded ...

Re: Is Squamish Soft?
1) According to tradition, the YDS route grade is assigned according to the single hardest move on the route, or at least it's supposed to be. Unlike bouldering, where the grade of a problem is more likely to stay consistent throughout all of the problem's moves, routes are often quite varied in ter...

Re: Valley of Shaddai
I have heard from a couple of different sources, tales of recent interest, and probable development, occurring in the Valley of Shaddai. But, only in the southern section, I believe. Hard sport by the sounds of it. I have also heard that a new access has been developed, some sort of trail into the V...
