Re: Funarama not so fun anymore

Several anchor bolts on the left-hand edge of 'Call it a Day' have been destroyed - hangers cut through and hammered flat. Looks like the bolts are intact - new hangers might be all that's needed. And some A$%^#@ needs his hacksaw taken away (or applied to his nether region)...

Re: Politics - like it or lump it

... In this riding I'm voting Liberal not because i'm particularly in love with them - I think they offer the best chance (in this riding) of unseating ... Harper. already voted for the liberal - not a huge fan of iggy, but the local candidate (Taleeb Noormohamed: http://taleeb.ca ) looks pretty go...

2011 falcon closure dates?

Has anyone heard if the falcon closure's starting dates have been posted? I haven't seen anything on the PC Parks website ( http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/bcparks/explore/parkpgs/stawamus/ - the 'all clear' message from the end of last year's closure is still posted) but I haven't been up to Squamish for ...

One thing that's always bugged me about the forum software is that middle-click always follows links, as well as opening a new tab. Must be some javascript override, as that doesn't happen anywhere else. Can that behaviour go away?

I got a later start than I'd planned, and didn't go past cannabis. Was a fun trip, tho. I had one head blow on me, which I replaced. I was surprised how dirty it was - gardened quite a bit of roots/moss/muck out of the 2nd and 3rd pitches. Still good times. No crowds/passing issues on the aid routes...

I don't think this is needed - there's enough golfing around, and whistler/blackcomb is already expanding to handle current list-service demand...

I meant the crappy belay that you mentioned, after the 5.8 traverse. That said, when soloing transitions area huge tmesuck, so the more I can link pitches the better.

Didn't booty any cams, just a few crappy old 'heads that came out under rope tension when my partner was jugging pitch 3.

Thanks for the beta - I did cannabis mid-winter and definitely want to go back and climb the rest of Strange Brew.

Did it look like you could link the traverse and the next pitch, and avoid the crappy belay? Would be soloing, so drag wouldn't be an issue...

Integrator

We climbed integrator (Crack Slabbeth -> St. Vitus -> No Saints Left) last sunday and did a fair amount of cleaning, especially on the 10b variation to the Crack Slabbeth starting pitch. Under about an inch of moss and crap was some pretty nice climbing :) Will return with wirebrush for a few stubbo...

Driving any pins into rock that has gone clean (and still undoubtably will without fixed gear) seems like a clear step backwards to me. Did I mention it's a free climb? Let's have some proper resource management, folks. W're talking about two rusty blades at the top of the shadow - they really shou...

My point remains that the continued use of iron changes the rock. Those pins have been there for years and are rusty as hell. If they don't get removed or replaved soon the heads will probably break off, and they'll be a right bastard to remove then. My vote would be to remove them, and then replac...
