Re: Starvation Lake Crag

Hi, How long are you planning for your visit to BC? If very short (like a week or less), I'd recommend the summer - late July or early August for the best chances of good weather. If longer, than the spring can be a great time to climb - - but can also be wet (very hard to predict). And the Starvati...

Re: 'Newish' crag in Smoke Bluffs - Grand Doug

Hi All: Yes: I climbed two of them this past Saturday. Wormwood Crack (5.8, or "letter D" on topo) and the climb to its' right "letter C", taking it's left-hand 5.9 variation. Both climbed well and had good protection and fine anchors (thanks for replacing the original staples!). Lovely shade from t...

Re: Starvation Lake Crag

Hello: Climbed this crag for the second time this weekend (first time was last fall). Rock was dry. There were no other climbers. Views to the Tantalus range are amazing. No highway noise - but you can hear the Chek river raging below. We parked at the "official" highway 99 picnic area - - north of ...

Re: Seeking advice for first climb in Squamish

Hello Regitze:

Buy or borrow a copy of the Squamish climbing guide books (both Kevin McLane and Marc Bourdon have published books). We have had unusually dry, sunny weather this October, so you might be in luck.

Enjoy,

Found: Chalk Bag, North Apron June 27

Did you drop or forget a chalk bag while climbing 'Long Time No See' last week? Or maybe you were on 'Calculus Crack' and your chalk bag came off and landed at a belay ledge of 'Long Time No See'? If so, I have it and am happy to return it. Please identify the chalk bag via PM and we'll arrange to g...

Lost: Quickdraw @ Cereal Killers area

Hey Folks:

I think one of my Petzl Ange quickdraws was lost at Murrin Park's Cereal Killers area on May 13th. It is white (webbing) with an orange-colored carabiner. Thanks and good karma for its' return. Kindly PM here.

Re: Partial opening of new North Apron route

I climbed the last two pitches (above Broadway Ledge) of "Long Time, No See" the other day (after doing Calculus Crack), and have to say that they are great, particularly that last pitch: it has technical, interesting climbing with just enough gear opportunities. :D Having done the full route (climb...
