Arcteryx Bora 50

One too many packs!

In good condition, asking $120. I'm in Vancouver, but can bring it up to Squamish if need be.

Re: Smoke Bluffs Park Top Ten Climbs

How about Asleep at the Wheel, up by Split Beaver? It's a bit longer than your average Bluffs climb and a bit more challenging than some Bluffs 5.8's. I liked it. +1 for Octopus Garden in the shade, my first trad lead! +1 Funarama - to me it lived up to it's name! Not sure if we're allowed to mentio...

Re: Where to toprope with kids?

Hey SoGo, I would also recommend sugarloaf by Murrin. Not sure when you're going to be in Squamish, but if it's the summer, it's not a bad place to hang with kids as there's the lake for swimming too. Fatty Bolger is also an area to consider, it's a short walk from the Bluffs carpark. I've been mean...

Re: Dry Tooling

"i am extremely uncomfortable drytooling summer rock routes, and dont think its particularly a good idea" I'm in full agreement, my aim isn't to drytool the summer rock routes. This year I got myself some tools with an aim to do ice and alpine. Working full time & with a family, my free time is limi...

Re: Dry Tooling

Ha ha - thanks staven - I did see that one too.

However all the "trash" talk, literally & figuratively had me discount it!
A look wouldn't do any harm I suppose...!

Dry Tooling

A search on the forum has brought up Cacodemon boulder a number of times - but I was wondering if there are other areas anyone would recommend for some dry-tooling practice? Either around Squamish or closer to Vancouver? It's my first season on tools so am looking for areas that I could set up a top...

The only way for Apple computers to open up a thread/post in a new tab on SquamishClimbing is to right click - open. Ridiculous.
Brendan, not sure what browser you're using on your Mac, but on Firefox, command-click will open a new tab

Hi Mike, I don't own a van myself but... there's one for sale on our street (East Vancouver). It is however, shiny and sparkly and therefore, I suspect, expensive. I don't know your budget, but in case you're a recent lottery winner or have some other extensive financial resource, I can check for yo...

I'd have to second pinner - it's really the best way.

If you can't find anyone at all then I'd highly recommend squamish rock guides. I did some courses with those guys last year and they were great.

I started mine just as he turned 4, back in December, so I've only had him climbing indoors, not out on the rock. Season is upon us though, so I plan to take him out this year. I find it's more about getting them comfortable, used to the gear and being high up. There's a book by Gary Joyce, Climbing...

Climbing with kids

Hi all, I was wondering how many of you are parents and if you take your little ones climbing? My boy is about to turn 3, and like all kids is a real monkey and loves to climb everything. Obviously I want to encourage this so he can become my belay-slave - only kidding :-) My question(s) are actuall...
