Re: New route on Grand Wall

Nice work Tony and partner! Would love to see the topo if you've figured out how to post it?

Re: VOC Longhike head up

Perhaps the VOC would consider at least limiting the number of participants in the future? 200 top-ropers for one day is ridiculous (in one group, that is - I hold no illusions about the masses that can swarm in one day independently). Or split longhike into 3 separate weekends of 50+ climbers? What...

I think the only time I've been on-route to start BP was the first. I've climbed it a half dozen times, including simul, plus soloed once, and I don't think I've done it the same more than twice... I've probably clipped that bolt every time (except soloing) as well. It likely has something to do wit...

Kevin McLane's new Canadian Rock: Select Climbs of the West has Marble Canyon in it, but unfortunately just 3 climbs... too bad. Central BC Rock it is!

Apparently you are the one who neglects to read, my friend. You stated in your first message: "there was a clear view of the trail and we had a person down on the ground walk the steep forrest screaming what we were doing and making sure all was clear" And then: "The trail to the unpopular Powakwats...

I've gone exploring up the gulleys on more than one afternoon, scrambling about in steep, un-walkable forest, along the bases of most of the walls, eyeballing old tatty fixed lines and the mess of water jugs, cookstoves, tarps, brushes, axe handles, and shitty t-shirts that go with them. I know othe...

Can anybody point me to that giant-sized photo of the chief thread from a year or two ago? Thought I'd bookmarked it, but it seems I didn't, and can't find it through the search function. It was linked to a special photo app website thingy, and the thread had people spotting climbers on the pic....r...

Well, I've managed to track down one reference to "Drifter's Escape" - a one liner citing name, year, and FAers by Anders in his Squamish in the 70's thread on Supertopo, and deduced that Conny and Adam's route is Bald Egos, which received its second ascent by Matt Maddaloni and Susie Beliveau not t...

Fabulous - thanks to all who replied. And fear not, I had no ideas whatsoever about a Crap Crags/Europa type deal, more like thinking about strapping on the ol' logger sports pole climbing spikes and belt, a Swami, and a handful of iron pins and seeing how far I could get beore I get sent home cryin...

What are the odds that Fixe (or Petzl, or...) would donate some hardware to Robin upon receipt of a CV of his routes developed in Squam, Skaha, and elsewhere, and a summary of the long-time debate surrounding his hardware placements, written by someone knowledgeable enough of his routes to compile t...
