Re: Spearhead Soiree - November 22, 2012

I don't think that Don Serl and Greg Foweraker will be speaking at the event. I think that they were only mentioned in connection with the Waddington traverse.

Re: Heart Fealt Thanks

I climbed 10 Years After a few years ago and our poop tube became unclipped and hung up at the top of the raps. We only noticed our loss when we hit the ground so it was too late to clean up after ourselves. I felt pretty bad leaving that sort of garbage for someone else to deal with. After a winter...

I'm pretty sure that this issue affects more than the 39 people who voted on this poll. I'm also pretty sure that a pollster would add something like "accurate to within +/- 20%, 19 times out of 20" to this poll.

The freed routes on Cacodemon are all bolted aren't they? In that case you should have good gear and should be able to do some dicier clean moves with some confidence. You'd just have to make it to the first bolt. I haven't climbed any of the routes free or aid, so I could be full of it... If you're...

I did the Upper Black Dyke this past weekend and had a blast. It's a really fun route. Consistently nice climbing. Neat moves. Cool location. The topo is pretty accurate. Definitely a route to put on your list. A little scruffy right now, but nothing to keep you away and nothing that a little traffi...

I agree with most of pinner's comments except for the "pretty fun" one. I probably won't go back and climb it for a while. My partner took the bolt ladder but didn't clip any bolts so that I could try the line straight up from the anchor. I don't have a lot of mileage at this grade, but it was likel...

This past weekend I did the one just right of MCM and it goes at about 10b. Robin was at Ronin's Corner and seemed to think that the grade is in the mid 10s. There are still a few crystals flaking off, which makes it a bit interesting. The rock up top is nicely textured. Didn't catch a name for it. ...
