A nice young man named Noam, who's visiting from Israel, returned my book today.

Give him a high five if you see him around town, k?

Lost guide book at Papoose

On Wed afternoon around 3pm, we were racking up for Hairpin and somehow my Squamish Select book got mixed up with the gear that was at the base. This book to me isn't just a guide book, it's a climbing journal from the last 4 or 5 years of everything I've done in this area.. I'd really like to have ...

Re: Bolts Smashed - Tunnel Rock

^^^!! Full belly laugh and coughed up my beer on that one !! Jeeez, hope it doesn't get moderated??!! I was at Tunnel Rock yesterday and took a look.. All of the routes on the Vandalarium (including anchors) except one (??) have nice straight bolts protruding from the rock , but no hangers... FYI

Re: New take on an old route at Shannon Falls

+1 on Sherri's debating points I climbed it with an old buddy who at one time was alot bolder than me (having kids changes your attitude, I guess) .. he opted to lower to the mid anchor and give me a go. I arrived at the slab just as a friend was finishing Skywalk , so I got a rope lowered to me :oo...

Re: cragX update

La Tercera Edad! Nice route, Hevy and Brian! Modern classic, perhaps, indeed :P
Btw, you can just about barely lower the leader down to the lower anchor.. About 61 metres.
The shorter, new cleanup to the right was quite nice as well.. A couple of 5.7/8s, well worth doing.

Thanks again!

Re: Dry Sport Routes near Whistler?

If you want to climb in Whistler, check out Nordic Rock. Snooze You Lose is a great sport route (maybe around the grade you're looking for) on the main wall http://www.mountainproject.com/v/nordic-rock/106691250 I haven't climbed there for quite awhile, but I always had fun there.. Escape Route will...

Crack-R-Jack, 10c, Murrin, Above the Lake is now clean

I spotted this line in the moss about five years ago when coming out of the Valley of Shaddai, and thought at the time it would be a nice thing to clean up... Well, I went to look at it this year and saw it was still looking lonely so I came back to give it a scrub, and its now good to go. It feels ...

Re: New routes above and beyond area

Hey, had fun on Split Decision today. So worth the walk, especially to get an area like this to ourselves on a fine summer day. As far as the crux pitch, FWIW I used the upthread advice and clipped the first bolt with a runner then hand-railed across, skipping the 2nd and 3rd bolts...2 cams in the h...
