maybe it should just be a non-local ban.. a barbed wire fence could be erected around the perimeter of the bluffs with a sign pointing out that "whistler is THAT way".

thanks for the explanation.

i guess another option re. dogs would be

a) don't buy rat-dogs or leave them in their fluffy pink puppy poof at home
or
b) buy a burly cougar fighting dog

(i think i'll go with b)

ok great i'll remove the red tape and let you know how it goes.

i'm guessing the 5.7 part is the slabby/blank headwall?

red tape on one toque wall

hi.. was doing some climbing at one toque wall on the weekend and noticed there was some red tape one of the bolts of the anchor on top of the climb next to sparkletoast (i forget the name).

anyone have any idea about it? the bolt felt good but i was still wary of using it.

in general it means for some or other reason (usually the route is still being worked on) you should not climb it.

man that sucks how such a little thoughtless destruction can be such an eyesore and so difficult to remove.

thanks for taking the initiative to attempt a cleanup, it's not perfect but it's certainly better than it was.. maybe encouraging growth of moss might help the process along? :)

slackline kit

hey yawl. i'm hoping for some help from the slackliners out there, do people in general just rig their own slacklines using karabiners and webbing or are the ratchet style easier to tension etc.

are there any ratchet style slacklines available to purchase around vancouver?

bolt failure

see: http://www.onsight.com.au/news-blog/articles/36/nicks-accident-what-happened http://www.onsight.com.au/news-blog/articles/37/report-follow-up and some discussion at UKC: http://www.ukclimbing.com/forums/t.php?n=340148 scary. is there a bolt police in squamish that would stop this from happening...
