When I said traverse, I meant the traverse on the second pitch to the third. I agree the first pitch is good (never thought there was a crux on it). I just feel the rest of it is nothing special. 4-star rating in the SQUAMISH SELECT. Most out-of-towners get lost on the second to third pitch and head...

why does a cream of white mice get 4 stars?

I have climbed a lot of climbs in Squamish and the rating of this climb has always left me bewildered. Both guide books rate it as a 3/four star route. The route starts alright and then you find yourself on a spooky traverse into a dirty crack. Belay on a mossy, dead tree ledge. Then a short pitch t...

beta on goodbye, farewll and amen

A dumb post! oh well. Climbed goodbye, farewell and amen and I SUCKED! The whole climb is excellent but at the bulge I kept getting lost, I regularly climb the 5.11s and was stumped. So I used a great layback hold, grabbed a friction type bulge with the left, lunged for a nice hold on the right then...

I just recently did over the rainbow and one scoop with delicious dimples. Both very fine climbs and not very difficult. Well protected and enjoyable.

Heading up and down to Quesnel this summer (from whistler). Has anyone climbed at marble canyon? Is it good, chossy, or best forgotten? Where can I find route information. Also any knowledge of any other good climbing areas on that drive.

O.K. I am over my gripe. I have been climbing for about ten years. So you can call me a newby. There are those out there who have been doing it since the dawn of mankind. I have climbed at smith and thailand and tons of canadian destinations. The reason I got so weirded out is... Some holds being ti...

Why are people ticking the holds in the Cheak with chalk!

Went climbing in the Cheak the other day on the forgotten wall and the crest. I was suprised to find white chalked tick marks indicating holds. I realise that sport climbing is like Gym climbing but is there really any need to take the mystery out of climbing by marking the holds (some were damn rig...
