I too have some gear for you to borrow if needed. Can't imagine, or ever want to experience, having to go home early from an overseas climbing trip.

Probably best to contact CASBC before starting any work. The last thing the climbing community needs is more bad press.

Why do you need to edit your posts when there are so many willing proof-readers online that offer pleasant, non-sarcastic, up-to-date edits all without being asked?

Or, you could just proof-read your own posts before uploading them. But if you are not into that, hire a secretary to do it for you.

I topped out the Chief yesterday via the UBD and loved it. It was very exposed, felt like the Alpine - loose rock and all - and made for an adventure of route finding. Dam those bolts are spaced far apart :)

Great work Jeremy.

Chek Access Road

As many are aware, the access road up to the Chek climbing area, Conroy Forest Service Road, is in bad shape. Due to irregular maintenance, lots of 2-wheel drive vehicle traffic, and poor surface water runoff control, a lot of rutting has occured. This has led to cars having to park at the bottom of...

There were even more tick marks on the Forgotten Wall last year. I remember Rug Munchers being ticked to the point that arrows were being used to point out holds. As more people populate the crags, there will be more and more of this and other annoying things going on. It is just a fact of life - cl...

My kitty is pretty hungry in the evenings too, luckily she is only 10 lbs and can't take me down. Seems strange that that the normal drills they preach for dealing with cougar encounters don't seem to be working. Might need to start carrying a really big stick while walking in the woods. Heaven forb...

I am really surprised to hear about this as I was under the impression that the military had hired local ACMG instructors to train the soldiers. I would be rather unpleased to hear that local guides allowed the soldiers to place bolts on established climbs instead of taking them to a piece of "never...

Room For Rent

I have a room for rent in a 3 bedroom townhouse in Brackendale (subburb just north of downtown Squamish). Room is furnished (twin bed and dresser) or can be unfurnished. Washer/dryer, full kitchen, shared common areas, lots and lots of storage. Non-smoking, no drugs tolerated, must like cats (I have...

Cat Lake Topo

For whatever reason when I was trying to downlaod the Cat Lake topo from the topo section, the topo for Clint Eastwood was coming up. Does anyone have the topo for Cat Lake that they would be willing to share? Or Gary could just fix the link...thanks Gary in advance.

Thanks

I drove by Conroy Forest Road on Tuesday and it looked like you could get around the pile of snow at the intersection. Is the road trafficable from there? I have no idea. It rained last night, but looks like there could be good conditions later this afternoon and into the weekend if the wet stuff st...

Ivan, thanks for all the effort putting on a great event! I am disappointed I didn't make it out on Friday, but Saturday was not a let down. Keep up the good work. I am definitely looking forward to the summer festival! And Sonnie, thanks for having a rubber arm that can be twisted so easily lol :) ...
