Re: Alpine rock in North Joffre creek

I would be in to donating a day of my time to help upgrade the trail as well. Its getting good but only in a climbers trail sort of way. Bolted anchors would change the feel out there in terms of commitment. When rapping from top of pitch 3 do a shorter rap to the fixed block anchor to avoid getting...

Re: Alpine rock in North Joffre creek

Thanks BK and friends. What an alpine playground. Can't wait to try the center variation to pitch 4. Like Julian said fixed pin is for sure missing top of pitch 4 but I was able to get micro gear in. The top of this pitch with the traverse to the right anchor is top dollar. WOW. But then you get the...

Re: U Wall hauling and descent beta?

Best advise is to do it in a day. Ha To get bag up to the starting pitch, don't bring it with you up approach. One person hike approach with haul rope one person hike onto Flake Ledge to where you can traverse back towards the long sport pitch that comes from the base of U wall. Haul to start here. ...

how did it go, Yet another Dave. I was up last sunday to solo Cannabis and all heads and fixed gear were in place. Last anchor on Cannabis is a tree and the slings could use replacing. was hoping to get up to Breakfast Run but a mistake that forced a rappel mid pitch to fix changed my mind set and I...

being the first real free climb that I had gotten around to this summer my feet were sore by then and I was in the tunnel shooting for the top and my runners.

there is a cam about 2feet higher but lets say that pin comes not a second to early. As even cleaning it I was on my tip toes to reach it. Hence the Pin Fairy. excuse my spelling mistake last post.

its not the birthing part that would be trouble in the wet. It is the groove corner that is slammed shut with black lichen growing on all aspects of rock that your feet and hands would like to touch. This pitch has been described to me as the pitch where the piton ferry hands you a free ticket.
