Re: Large rockfall, North Walls

From the Squamish Access Society: "Although the Mamquam Forest Service Road has opened following the rock fall today, the trail to Angel’s Crest remains closed due to an extremely high risk of rock fall. Further information will be posted as it comes available." Several rock fall experts looked at t...

Found - Quickdraw at Forgotten Wall

I found a quickdraw last night at the Forgotten Wall hanging high on a route. I'm certain it wasn't left in place for redpointing. It was on a moderate route and left in a random spot which was not the crux. My guess is someone following the route simply forgot to clean it. If it's yours, contact me...

Lost - Ushba

I lost my Ushba top-rope soloing device at Pet Wall a couple of weeks ago. If anyone has found it, I'd appreciate its return: info@quickdrawpublications.com. It's the old titanium (silver) style.

Magical Dog/Goin' to California

I was hiking along the Cirque trail yesterday (April 12th) and noticed a newly fallen tree was leaning, almost comically, against the first 30-40 feet of thin crack on Magical Dog/Goin' to California. The thin branches looked as if they'd practically threaded themselves into the seam... If anyone is...

Re: Smoke Bluffs Guidebook Questions - Help!

Thanks Guys! Updates... Easter Island - Dru, do you know how to contact Mark or do you have any more info about the climb, like name and grade? Laughing Crack - I found out who bolted it. It's not had a first ascent as far as I know and it's an open project. Likely 12+/13- slab. Get on it!!! Cat Cra...

Pet Wall and Lakeside in the Woods FA Info

Does anybody know the name of the climber who did the first ascents of the sport routes on the left side of Lakeside in the Woods a number of years back? All I've got is "Brad", I think (from the forum posts) and have had no success in contacting him. Same question for "The Canadian Style" the route...

Overnight Rockfall!

A large amount of rock cut loose off the Chief about 5:00 am this morning (during the torrential overnight rainfall). One of the gullies is the likely culprit, but if anyone has more info, post it here. It sounded like it came from the vicinity of the North Walls...

Re: Forest entrance to Chuck Chuck Creek Crag?

Hi Joe, It's pretty easy to find. Hike up the road from the parking area down by the river for 15-20 minutes until you reach a small clearing in the forest. In the clearing, the right-hand spur road goes up to Clint Eastwood and the main road continues along to Chuck Chuck crag (and the Lounge). Bot...

Re: Murrin Park New developed areas

I might... When you say "north of Genesis", I"m not sure exactly what you mean, but in the trees above the north end of the parking lot (50 m uphill or less) is a narrow, tall crag below a steep, white overhang. It's got a super nice looking moderate (Beginner's Luck, 5.7) that leads to a steep roof...

El Salto, Mexico - Climbing Accommodation

Does anyone out there have any beta on a decent place to stay (apartment, cabin, hotel) near the climbing area of El Salto in Northern Mexico?

Information seems scarce. It looks like most people camp.

Help is appreciated!
